Roots of Remembrance: Mars’ Nahuat Pipil Heritage

A first-generation daughter of Los Angeles with indigenous Nahuat Pipil roots from El Salvador, Mars channels the wisdom of her ancestors to help others reconnect with the healing powers of nature. Through her work as a folk herbalist and community builder, she leads a sacred mission to restore harmony between humanity and the natural world.

Mars’ journey into herbalism began in 2017, during a pivotal moment in her life. Like many who seek healing, she found herself at a crossroads, burdened with physical and emotional pain, and searching for ways to heal. Childhood trauma had left deep scars, but Mars sensed that her path to recovery lay not in conventional methods, but in the ancient wisdom passed down through her lineage.

She recalled the words of her great-grandmother, who often spoke of the healing powers of herbs—how plants, with their gentle yet potent energy, could soothe the soul and heal both body and spirit. Driven by these memories, Mars began to explore herbal medicine, launching herself on a transformative path that would not only heal her, but was destined to become her life's work.

A Self-Taught Herbalist Awakens to Ancestral Wisdom

For the first two years, Mars engrossed herself in self-study. She devoured texts on Western, Chinese, and Mayan herbal traditions, absorbing knowledge like the Earth herself absorbing the sun’s light. With each discovery, the plants seemed to reveal their magic to her, guiding her deeper into the healing mysteries they held.

Then, as if by divine intervention, Mars was accepted into a year-long apprenticeship at the Gaia School of Healing. This apprenticeship marked a turning point, reawakening the ancestral wisdom of her Mayan Pipil lineage. The teachings ignited her desire to learn from Curanderas—traditional healers—and led her to continue her studies in Mexico and El Salvador. This sacred journey deepened her understanding of the plants and the healing they offered, connecting her even more profoundly with the Earth, while staying true to her indigenous roots.

Mars’ travels have taken her across the globe, with her aforementioned immersion in the traditional healing practices of indigenous cultures. Whether deep in the forests of Central and South America or connecting with communities worldwide, her enriched knowledge of plant medicine and other various healing modalities runs deep.

The Healing Power of Ritual and Nature

The Call of Curanderismo

Mars’ work is rooted in Curanderismo, an earth-based healing tradition that honors the natural world and the wisdom of plants. She teaches that by implementing daily practices of connecting with nature, we can access our subconscious, enabling us to release the fears and behaviors that trap us in cycles of mental suffering.

In her own life, Mars has experienced this transformation firsthand. Through her deep relationship with the plants, she has learned how to decondition the patterns that once held her back. This healing process, she believes, is available to all of us—if only we are willing to reconnect with the Earth.

Mars’ mission is to guide others on this path of healing, using ritual acts and communion with nature to inspire a remembrance of our innate connection to the Earth. Through her platform, Dose of Diosa, she shares the tools and wisdom necessary for others to embark on their own healing journey.

A Sacred Mission: Healing Ourselves and the Earth

At the heart of Mars’ practice is a belief in the interconnection between the Earth and our inner worlds. She teaches that as we heal ourselves, we simultaneously heal the planet. When we develop a deeper understanding of the natural world, we also cultivate a deeper understanding of ourselves.

Her goal is not only to inspire healing on an individual level but to create a community of stewards dedicated to protecting and nurturing the Earth. Mars believes that by honoring the Earth, we honor ourselves, and by learning to work with plants, we unlock a forgotten language that can guide us to health, balance, and harmony.

Dose of Diosa: Mars' Offering to the World

Through Dose of Diosa, Mars shares her sacred work with the world. It is more than a brand—it is a community, a space where ancient knowledge meets modern practice. Here, Mars weaves the threads of her Nahuat Pipil ancestry into every offering, creating a tapestry of healing that invites others to walk the same path of remembrance.

Becoming Stewards of the Earth

At the heart of Mars' mission is the belief that by healing ourselves, we heal the Earth. She teaches that by understanding the world around us, we can come to better understand the world within us. Through her practice, Mars reminds us that the Earth holds all the medicine we need to heal our bodies, minds, and spirits—and that by becoming stewards of the Earth, we become stewards of our own souls.

Walking the Path of the Earth Daughter

Mars invites us to walk the path of healing alongside her, to remember our ancient connections to the Earth, and to rediscover the magic of plants. Her work, rooted in her ancestors' traditions, offers a blueprint for those seeking to return to their own roots. Through the wisdom of plants, Mars teaches us that healing is not only possible—it is inevitable, as long as we listen to the Earth and honor its gifts.

Her journey is a reminder that the Earth holds infinite wisdom, and that by deepening our relationship with it, we can unlock the healing powers within ourselves. Through Dose of Diosa, Mars invites us all to embark on this journey with her.

Her mission is clear: to inspire healing, remembrance, and connection, so that we may all become better stewards of the Earth and our own inner worlds.

In the words of Mars, "The better we understand the world around us, the better we can understand the world within us."
